Dear Customer,
This disk contains version 1.10 of Macro Paint. Several minor changes
were made to the program after the manual went to press. They are:
1. You now have explicit control over the way Macro Paint chooses
colors during re-mapping. The new menu option `Error Margin' on the `Mode'
opens a requester window that lets you change the threshold used when
comparing two colors for similarity. The default value is 6 which is
ideal for the widest range of pictures. A value of 1 forces each different
color into its own color register; the higher the value, the more `similar'
colors will share one of the limited number of color registers available
on each line. Good values to experiment with are between 3 and 10.
2. You can now load an image directly into the spare page. Select the
`Load IFF' menu item from the `Spare' menu to do this. It can also be
accomplished from ARexx, making it possible to write a slide-show program.
3. The file `Macro.ARexx' contains a summary of all the ARexx commands
implemented at this time. There are a few new ones that did not make it
into the manual or were incorrectly documented in the manual.
4. Two bugs were discovered by users of 1.05 and fixed in this version.
If you know someone using an earlier version, have them call us for an
update. If you have any problems using this version please let us know
as soon as possible.
5. In the Color Adjust menu we have added "RESET" as customers have
requested. Selecting this menu item will reset the color pallette to the
default pallette as if you had restarted Macro Paint.
6. To abort the printing sequence, hit the "ESC" (escape) key at any time.
Macro Paint will then bring up a requester asking if that is what you wanted
to do and you simply answer yes or no and the program will take appropriate
action.
7. We have added a new TOOLTYPE for the Macro Paint icon. It is "PREFERENCES"
and is used so you can specify which set of preferences you would like to
use. Add the line in your tooltype window "PREFERENCES=[FULL PATH NAME]
PREFS" or which ever other preferences you would like to use., This was added
for those customers who use Jonathan Potter's "Prefs" program for adding
morerows to their screen.
8. We are continually improving this product. It is VERY important
to fill out and return the registration card. Updates and product support
will not be made available to unregistered users. They are available to
registered users on our BBS for the cost of a phone call; we will also send
out update disks for a nominal fee. SEND IT IN TODAY. Our mailing list
is not for sale.
